There was a minimum of 15 flights operated by IndiGo which received security threats this Sunday. After this, the airline quickly resorted to following the necessary precautions and maintained contact with the necessary authorities. The airline was deeply regretful for the inconvenience this caused the fliers traveling with them. Meanwhile, it also mentioned that it is taking all the safety protocols in line with the regulations and precautions necessary.
According to their statement, “In line with our strict safety protocols, all necessary precautions are being taken, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities.”
“The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers and appreciate their understanding during this time,” they further added to that statement.
Earlier on Sunday, Ayodhya’s Maharishi Valmiki International Airport increased security. This was due to a bomb threat on an Akasa Airline flight from Bengaluru. The plane, carrying 173 passengers, landed safely with immediate safety measures in place.
After landing, authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft and passengers. Airport Director Vinod Kumar confirmed that all checks were completed, and no suspicious items were found.
Due to the recent increase in hoax bomb threats along with security related alerts that IndiGo airline received, proper measures are taken. This will help them deal with the situation accordingly. In a recent statement on X, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that, “We are deeply concerned in the wake of recent hoax bomb threats disrupting air travel. I assure you that safety and security are our highest priorities, and we are committed to taking strict action against those behind these malicious acts. Let’s work together to ensure safe skies for all.”
